Hello everyone, I would like to know if in my 166 diesel 2005 is the preparation of the plug to connect a steering wheel with steering wheel .... my unfortunately does not have them !!!
Some time ago I tried to remove the steering wheel but did not want to learn to get out .... I had also left in traction using a pulling all night but nothing.
I am waiting for news ;)
Of what I know every 166 has such a prep, however you should wait for a final confirmation from one of my more experienced colleagues ;) the bigger problem is actually buying a steering whell with this feature..especially for a car manufactured after 2003.
Buy a steering wheel with controls is not a problem ...... but I have to find out first if the mine is Already prepared.
You can also put the wheel of the 147 or 156 restyling ??

Steering wheel of 147 and 156 do not match. If you do not have cables under the wheel you do it yourself. See diagram in eLearn.
As I imagined, they are not compatible !!
However, Marek dear .... you would be so kind to send me the pattern of Elearn ??? I can not seem to use Elearn.

About restyling, steering wheel for 147 and 156 have different internal spline, unfortunately they will not match.
All ICS for alfa 166 FL are able to work with multifunction steering wheel but air-bag contact need to have option E245 - two plugs (yellow for the air bag and black 4pins for multifunction controls). Easy to check by disassemby covers under the steering wheel.
Hello Kowalm, as I said at the beginning, the damn steering wheel was not able to pull it off to see if the pin were present.
You do not have to remove the steering wheel. Take off only the covers as shown below. Have a look on the left side of the steering column, the plugs are placed/locked on the lower cover.Cytat:

If there is only one plug keep in mind that while you buying steering with multifunction control when ask about airbag contact with two plugs.
In the worst case scenario all you need is 4 missing wires
Perfect, tomorrow I remove the cover under the steering wheel and control .... I also do a couple of pictures for safety.
PS is always the problem when I have to change the wheel :D

If so, I can prove it by connecting the wires to see the response of the ICS (increased volume etc ...)?

Yes, it is the connector!
Generally speaking each of the buttons affect different electrical circuit resistance. I mean by that circuit between two pins in the middle of the connector. Two aside are power and ground for buttons backlight. You can try close the mentioned circuit by resistor. About the resistance value try 1,6 kOhm for volume down and 3 kOhm for volume up.
But there is one thing with bother me, I am not sure is the signal should be continuous or kind of short impulse. Any way, all you need is the steering with multifunction control and airbag contact with two connectors to have everything working.
